laser alignment sequence

To be considered a true automated programming system, the machine should demonstrate repeatable Pick-and-Place accuracy, high performance, and little operator involvement every step of the way. From job teaching to device placement, the LaserAlign™ Sensor from CyberOptics® integrated into our 3000 and 4000 series automated programming systems does just that…and more.

The Laser Alignment Sequence:

  1. The CyberOptics’ LaserAlign Sensor projects a thin strip of laser light onto the device.
  2. The CCD array detects the shadow cast by the device during rotation.
  3. Once the CCD array detects the point at which the shadow width is at a minimum, the device is aligned parallel to the laser beam.
  4. The lateral position in X and Y and the alignment angle is determined.
  5. This sequence is completed in 0.5 seconds while the pick-place head is in motion.
